Ok, Ducati, damn you once again for making me lust after your Italian goodness. After launching the baby brother 796 hypermotard, Ducati just had to go out and pump up the big bro a little bit. And thus the 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO was born.

What does it mean? Only that the engine and chassis have been redone, turning the light, nimble, and powerful Hypermotard into an even lighter more nimble, and downright beastly ride.

Sick.

Oh, and you can get a higher-spec EVO SP too.

Ducati have taken everything that was good about the 1098 and just turned the thing up to 11… er, 1198 that is.

Having gained experience in World Superbike, Ducati decided to make their road-going version of their flagship superbike closer than ever to its racing brethren. So what does this mean for you? Well, if you bought a 1098 you might be kicking yourself right now. But for everyone else, it means that you get a faster, sharper, and more badasser bike! (Who says badasser, anyway? I do? That’s embararrasing.)

On the heels of the MotorcycleNewsGuy’s effervescent praise of the Triumph Street Triple R comes a look at another bike that I think is, well, to put in gently, pretty effin sweet. But that’s about the only thing this beast – err, monster – puts gently.

It sounds like the chassis is significantly improved from the last-gen monster, and the bike really benefits from it. The trellis frame looks great, but I’m not sure how it handles the torque of today’s big twins.

And the styling – I don’t know about you, but the new look that at first seemed a little severe has really grown on me, and I think it makes sense as an evolution of the Monster design.

At nearly $12K this bike ain’t cheap, no way, but I have a feeling the Ducatista will still flock to the new Big Mo.

If you’re in the market for a large displacement supermoto – I guess megamoto is the right word – do yourself a favor and check out motorcyclist online’s comparo looking at the Ducati Hypermotard, KTM 950 Supermoto, Buel XB12STT, and BMW HP2 Megamoto.

I’ve been wondering about the KTM for a while and it’s nice to see a good review of it, but any one of these bikes would be mounds of fun. Anyway, do yourself a favor and hop on over to the review if you feel like spending a bit of time on moto reading – the review is 9 pages long!
