There are definitely days where I’m not sure whether I would rather own a Triumph Daytona 675, or the Triumph Street Triple 675. They are both fabulous machines, built around the core of Triumph’s mellifluous 3-cylinder masterpiece of an engine. (Today is Big Words Day here at MotorcycleNewsGuy. I had to look that one up.)

But for canyon carving and track days, I’d definitely pick the Daytona, and anyone would be hard-pressed to find a middleweight with this combination of power, approachability, and precision.

Motorcyclistonline.com has a nice review of the 2009 version of the Daytona. I have to warn you though – those journos got to ride the Daytona through the Spanish hillsides, stopping to eat tapas and admire the views, so reading the story may evoke the same strong feelings of jealousy I got when reading it. Good review though, so check it out – but you’ve been warned!
